Uma was born in the Philippines and grew up in Fiji. After graduating from the Fiji School of Medicine she worked and gained experience in different specialities including general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology.
Experience
She migrated to Australia after getting married and moved to Bathurst in 2009. She worked in the Western Sydney Local Health District area before joining the Bathurst Health Service in 2018 where she worked in the Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care Unit. She is interested in all aspects of medicine but has special interests in family medicine, children’s health and preventative medicine. Uma has been accepted into the More Doctors for Rural Australia Program and is working towards gaining a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Uma is a huge foodie who loves travelling for new food experiences. On her days off she enjoys cooking, baking, cake decorating, gardening and spending time with her beloved cats.
